We are excited to announce the new Director for our Children and Young Families Ministries: Lisa Beck.
Lisa is very familiar to most of us, as she and her husband, Henry, along with their 3 beautiful daughters, Adame, Avalyn, and Amelia, have been actively involved with Memorial for quite some time. You will know Lisa by her smile and joyful demeanor, optimism and enthusiasm.
After 20 years in the banking industry – while volunteering a considerable amount of time and energy with our children’s programs- Lisa has decided to change course and devote herself full-time to this ministry.
A team player, she is passionate and eager to work with the Children’s Council in growing our children’s programs, while enriching the lives of our children and young families.
Lisa officially begins on June 1st.

Bargain Treasures is up and running!
On Saturday, August 23, our community sale of all types of items will occur. We need your help for it to be a success! ANY gently used goods from furniture to towels, dishes to children’s clothing, seasonal decorations to yard/shop equipment…literally anything that is in sellable condition will be accepted. If you would not consider it in good enough condition to buy yourself, please do not give it to us. If pick-up is needed, please call Ron Berrier (336-769-1828) so that scheduling can be arranged.
– Your Special Projects Committee greatly appreciates your help!!
The UWF will again have clothes for sale at the Bargain Treasurers Sale on August 23rd.
There will be clothes on Bargain Treasures side of CEC in the Scout Rooms and in Jewelry Sale area in R. L. Pope Room, as last year. We will also have shoes.
We are asking for gently used or new clothes that you just never wore. Or clothes you outgrew or that are now too large for you! Women’s, Men’s, Youth, Children and infants’ clothes are needed. Children’s toys and books are welcome as well. Go to the attic, storage unit, and your closets to see what you can find!
We will also have our jewelry sale and need more jewelry. Go to your jewelry box and bring what you never wear. Then come buy replacement jewelry at the sale! Win! Win! Items that are not sold will be available at the Jewelry sale at Gift’s Galore. We will also be donating clothes to our Prison Ministry, Father’s Store House, and Western North Carolina. Thank you for cleaning out your closets! Then come buy stuff at the sale in August or November. Please bring as soon as possible so we can get it prepared for sale. Leave on hanger or fold carefully to prevent wrinkling. Leave in the Library! We will move to the prep/storage area. Thank you! This was very successful last year and helped a lot of people!!! The buyers loved our clothes and at the prices they could afford! Bargain Treasures is a mission project for our community and beyond, as well as helps our budget!
Thank you!!! UWF
