WEDNESDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP

Join us Wednesday, January 25th at 5:30 p.m. for our Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinner! Please make your reservations no later than Monday, January 23rd by calling the Church Office at 336-472-7718, filling out the insert in Sunday’s Bulletin, or by emailing office@mumctville.org.

Nursery Care will be available.

Program Details:

  • Youth Small Group: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Children’s Choir: 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Kid’s Bible Study: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m

 

LET’S GET CREATIVE!

 

Empty Bowls invites you to show your creativity while helping our community!

Join us for a Pick & Paint Session where you will be able to select a blank ceramic bowl of your choice. Paint it, stamp it, and decorate it any way you like. Your artwork will be dipped in a clear glaze and fired to make it glossy and food safe. Someone will choose your specially signed creation at Empty Bowls, enjoy soup in it, and take it home with them to cherish!

The donation cost is $10-14 (Depending on your chosen style and size).

There are two Pick & Paint Sessions to choose from!

Session 1 – Saturday, February 11th, 2023
Location: Distractions Art Studio
Time: 11 AM – 1 PM
Participants may choose from tier 1, 2, or 3 bowls ($10-14) and from 3 different color palettes.

Session 2 – Saturday, February 18th, 2023
Location: Memorial UMC ( Fellowship Hall in the CEC)
Time: 10 AM – 12 PM
Participants will choose their bowl prior to the session from tier 1, 2, or 3 ($10-14) and are limited to 1 color palette.

FAT TUESDAY PANCAKE DAY

Fat Tuesday Pancake Day Tickets are now on sale!  Please see a Missions Committee Member or contact the Church Office at (336) 472-7718 to purchase your tickets.  The price is $7.00 per ticket (Children under 6 eat free).

SEWING MINISTRY UPDATE:

2022 allowed us to re-group and be very productive!

  • We made walker aprons for Spring Arbor Nursing home and Piedmont Crossing.
  • With the UMW we created, cut, sewed, stuffed, and delivered 10” teddy bears to the Dragonfly House.
  • Tote bags were made for CCM to distribute to the clients to carry food items (rather than all plastic bags).
  • The Thomasville Rotary Club commissioned us to make custom-made food service aprons with the Rotary logo embroidered on them.
  • We also made dinner napkins to donate to the Empty Bowls silent auction.
  • Then for Gifts Galore, we made table runners, dinner napkins to match, and several other items. The proceeds from Gifts Galore have been deposited into our Sewing Ministry bank account for future needs.

    We are looking to get more folks involved in our Sewing Ministry! Not everyone needs to sew, we need patterns cut out, fabric ironed as we sew, and most importantly we are looking for ideas for new projects.

We invite you to visit us on most Tuesday mornings to see what we do, how you can help, or just join us for wonderful fellowship. We meet on the 3rd floor of the Church from 9:00 -11:00 AM. If you knit or crochet, Hospice of Davidson County is in need of prayer shawls!

If you need yarn, there is a random collection here at the church, just contact Katie Conant at 336-225-1947. When completed, please drop off at the church office.

End-of-Year Statements are ready!  They will be available in the lobby of Jarrett Hall and the Narthex for the next 2 Sundays (1/22 & 1/29) and in the Church Office during the week.  If not picked up they will be mailed on 1/30.  Thank you!
