WEDNESDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP

Join us this Wednesday, October 19th at 5:30 p.m. for our Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinner!

Program Details:

  • Adult Bible Study: Words of Life
    Nearly everyone has heard of the Ten Commandments, the list of “thou-shalt-nots” found in the Bible. Jesus saw these commandments not as onerous burdens, but as guideposts to help us experience a good and beautiful life. Join others from Memorial as we take a fresh look at these ancient words.
  • Youth Small Group: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Children’s Choir: 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Kid’s Bible Study: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

 

TRUNK OR TREAT

Our Trunk or Treat event will be held Saturday, October 29th from 6:30-8:00 p.m.! This is a great community event for families looking for a fun and safe alternative to trick-or-treating door-to-door or a good excuse for the kids to get one more use out of their holiday costumes! Kids will travel around the church parking lot from car to car as if trick-or-treating, stopping at each decorated trunk to play a game or receive a treat.

Setup time will begin at 5 pm. Please contact Lynda Hepler at 336-472-9711 or click HERE to sign up.
CANDY DONATIONS ARE NEEDED!
Help out by bringing candy donations to the church. You can leave them at Lynda’s office.

MEMORIAL UMC’S PUMPKIN PATCH 

Starting Saturday, October 15th at 2 PM the Pumpkin Patch will be Open!

Additionally, help is needed selling pumpkins! Daily shifts are available for October 15th – 30th! This is a fun way to work together to support the church. We’d like at least two volunteers per shift. Click HERE to visit the Signup Page.

CHURCH PICNIC

Please join us for some food, fellowship, and fun at our Fall Church Picnic on Sunday, October 23rd from 3-7 p.m.!

Make sure to bring a lawn chair and a dessert to share. There will be lots of fun for the whole family (hamburgers & hotdogs, games, inflatables, crafts, and more!).

GIFTS GALORE

Hi, Friends!
One of the major fundraisers for our church is Gifts Galore.  It has occurred on the first Saturday in November for 16 years.  As part of this money-raising event, the Special Projects Committee is asking for your help in two ways:
1.  Support the event and its vendors by your ATTENDANCE and spreading the word.  Please pass the insert in today’s bulletin to a friend.
2.  A contribution to its BAKE SALE.  Donations may be brought to the kitchen on Thursday or Friday, November 3rd or 4th.

Thank you for helping our vendors increase their income in these tight economic times and for helping with the finances of Memorial!

CLERGY APPRECIATION MONTH

The Staff Parish Relations Committee would like to share that October is Clergy Appreciation Month. While we may show our appreciation for Danny, Rodney, and Lynda throughout the year, we encourage you to take an opportunity to demonstrate your creativity in extending your sincere affirmation and support of their tireless dedication to Memorial UMC! We are entering a very busy and meaningful season in the life of the church and our clergy will surely covet your prayers for health and renewal as they serve in ministry in our church and the community.

SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL (S.O.S) TEAM

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a child?  Memorial is partnering with Thomasville Primary School to create a caring community for the children.

Here’s how you can help. In the Narthex, you will find a list of opportunities in which you can use your gifts for ministry. Select which opportunities you would like to serve.  You may place this sheet in the offering plate, and someone will follow-up with you.

ELECTRONIC BANK DRAFT OPTION FOR PLEDGE PAYMENTS

Did you know that you can pay your pledge to Memorial using automatic bank drafts (EFT)? Church members who have begun paying this way have indicated that the process has been a good solution for them, simplifying recurring payments.
