SPRING BIBLE STUDY – THE LORD’S PRAYER

The Lord’s Prayer holds a significant place in our faith. It offers hope in times of trouble. It is a declaration of our faith. It is a petition for guidance. The words of The Lord’s Prayer roll off our tongues so easily, that we sometimes miss their significance. While we recognize the prayer as sacred, we sometimes fail to grasp its power.

Through this study we will revisit this model prayer given to us by Jesus and look more deeply into its meaning. Adam Hamilton suggests that this is more than a model for prayer, but a model for living. Join us for new insights into this great gift that we know as The Lord’s Prayer.

There are 2 session times available starting April 20th – June 1st:
Wednesday’s at 6:30 PM Following Wednesday Night Dinners
Thursday’s at 10:00 AM

If you are interested, please contact the church office by Wednesday, April 13th. We want to make sure enough study materials are ordered!
You may contact the church office at (336) 472-7718 or by email at office@mumctville.org.

UMW GATHERING

There will be a general gathering of our UMW Unit on Monday, April 18th in the CEC dining area. We will have dinner at 6 PM. Cost $8.00.

Program: Representatives from DragonFly House will speak about their care for children who have been abused. They are an Advocacy Center whose mission is to help victims cope with and overcome trauma. Our hands on project will be making precious stuffed bears for DragonFly to give to victims to comfort them during their visit and when they leave. They serve Davidson County and surrounding communities.

Please call or text Lynda Stone (336) 882-6046 to make your reservation by Wednesday, April 13th. A portion of our Lenten Luncheon donation collection will be donated to Dragon Fly House.

If you are on the executive committee, we will meet prior to the general meeting at 5:00 PM in RL Pope classroom.

We extend an invitation to all women in the church to join us! We make a difference for women and children locally and worldwide.

UKRAINE

How to assist the Ukrainian people
The United Methodist community in Ukraine, though quite small, is actively engaged in assisting neighbors in need. Global Ministries is in touch with the church’s leadership as well as with church leaders in countries welcoming those who are fleeing from violence in Ukraine.

If you wish to provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people in the wake of the Russian invasion of their country you may give a check to the church by marking it “Ukraine”. Your gift will provide direct assistance to those in Ukraine, as well as assistance to Ukrainians fleeing to neighboring countries.

Due to the United Methodist connectional structure, one hundred percent of all contributions go to the designated cause.
