VIRTUAL WORSHIP RESOURCES:

SHARING JESUS’ LOVE: IF NOT US, THEN WHO?

Thank you for your pledge response to our 2022 campaign. To date, we have $437,700.00 pledged

If you have not yet submitted your pledge you can place it in the offering, bring by the church and give it to Kristin Shores, or mail it to the church (Memorial United Methodist Church, PO Box 428, Thomasville, NC 27361).  If you have any questions, please contact Kristin at (336) 472-7718.

OCTOBER – CLERGY APPRECIATION MONTH

Clergy have worked hard to meet new challenges facing the church for nearly two years.  The Western NC Conference has designated this month to recognize our ministers for their creativity in meeting the needs at Memorial. Consider letting Danny, Rodney, and Lynda know in your own special way how much you appreciate their efforts!

YOGA

There will be no Yoga on November 2. We will resume on November 9 for Nidra Yoga so plan to bring some extra props. Contact Brenda Lyons (bwlyons00@gmail.com) with any questions.

Experience the magic of Christmas at Linbrook Hall, enjoy special music while admiring elaborately decorated rooms filled with breathtaking Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands…

Then head over to the estate’s John Deere Tractor & Antique Industrial Museums…

Lastly, visit the Historic Hoover House to see where the estate began.

December 5, 2021, 1-5 pm Admission $20

Tickets may be purchased before and after our service in the Narthex or you can come by the church office Monday – Thursday 9 am- 5 pm. There is also an event on Eventbrite where tickets can be purchased.

This fundraiser is sponsored by Thomasville Empty Bowls and all proceeds go to Cooperative Community Ministry Food Pantry and Project Divine Interruption (which aids homeless and displaced children in the Thomasville City Schools)

HELP NEEDED!

Do you want to be a special blessing to others this Christmas and be blessed by your service?

If so, contact Lynda Hepler about joining the Chrismon Tree team. We are looking for volunteers to help repair Chrismon ornaments, make new ornaments, and set up the tree for our Advent/Christmas season.

Help us celebrate and share the hope, love, joy, and peace of the season. Click HERE or call 336-472-9711.

STAR OF BETHLEHEM

Out of an abundance of caution and respect for the many people involved in Star of Bethlehem, we have sadly felt it necessary to cancel this year’s Drive-thru scheduled for December 11 and 12.

Contracts for the animals have to be signed, and preliminary work begun on sets, backdrop, etc. at least six weeks in advance. It also involves over 200 people per night for this production. With the uptick in Covid and flu season near, this decision had to be made. PLEASE NOTE: We will be presenting live nativity scenes on the front lawn on Saturday, December 11 and Sunday 12 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Make your plans to ride down Randolph Street during these designated times and see the beautiful nativity sets reminding us of Jesus’ birth. Our prayer is that next year we will have the full experience of Star of Bethlehem once again.

UMW ANNUAL WORLD THANK OFFERING

Coffee, tea, and water will be provided. Please RSVP to Lynda Stone by Wednesday, November 10th, at 336-882-6046.  Please call Cheryl Herman at 336-307-0022 for any questions.  Looking forward to seeing you!
