BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3
5 PM
MUMC FRONT LAWN

Please join us this Sunday, October 3rd at 5 PM for a special blessing of the animals! The service will be held on the front lawn.

A Blessing of Animals, in many congregations, witnesses to God’s and the Church’s love, care, and concern for creation. As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God’s creatures, the Church’s witness of stewardship of creation is strengthened. The blessing is traditionally celebrated on or around the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.

All are welcome, and we hope to see you and your pets there!

OCTOBER – CLERGY APPRECIATION MONTH

Clergy have worked hard to meet new challenges facing the church for nearly two years.  The Western NC Conference has designated this month to recognize our ministers for their creativity in meeting the needs at Memorial. Consider letting Danny, Rodney, and Lynda know in your own special way how much you appreciate their efforts!

TRUNK OR TREAT

MEMORIAL UMC – UPPER CHURCH PARKING LOT

Trunk or Treat events are a great community event for families looking for a fun and safe alternative to trick or treating door-to-door or just a good excuse for the kids to get one more use out of their holiday costumes. Kids will travel around the church parking lot from car to car as if trick-or-treating, stopping at each decorated trunk to play a game or receive a treat.

TRUNKS NEEDED!
Setup time will begin at 5 pm. Please contact Lynda Hepler at 336-472-9711 or click HERE to sign up so we’ll know how many vehicles to plan for!

CANDY DONATIONS ARE NEEDED!
Help out by bringing candy donations to the church. You can leave them at Lynda’s office.

ART ACADEMY FALL SEMESTER BEGINS!

Art Academy is starting back for the Fall semester. It is not too late to register! If you or anyone you know is interested in taking classes, please contact Melanie Byerly @ mbyerly@mumctville.org or call (336)472-7718 for information. All ages are welcome!

HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO DRIVE A GOLF CART?

Guest and Volunteer Services at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center are seeking people to drive golf carts and assist in helping patients from their cars to the facility and back.  This is a great opportunity to serve the members of our community.  If interested, contact Kristen G Fulp, Manager, Patient Services at 336-476-2881.
