EVERY FRIDAY DURING LENT

This year’s Lenten Food Drive Challenge is going to look a little different! We will still support COOPERATVE COMMUNITY MINISTRIES with “non-perishable food and toiletry items”! Simply make your purchase and drop off between 10 – 11 AM each Friday at the Church “Breezeway”. Members of the Mission Committee will even be there to unload your donation! If you are unable to get by the church during this time, you can also choose to make your donation to the Mission Racks by the Breezeway door and the Committee will make sure that your donation will make it to CCM!
These WEEKLY DROP-OFF EVENTS will focus on a particular food item, but PLEASE NOTE, any non-perishable food and toiletry items food items will gladly accepted!
HERE IS THE WEEKLY THEME SCHEDULE:

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY 2021:
“The Walk” by Adam Hamilton
BEGINS FEBRUARY 24
6:30 – 7:30 PM
VIA “ZOOM MEETINGS”
FACILITATED BY TIM LYONS
Our six-week study using The Walk by Adam Hamilton is going well, and it’s not too late to join! Each week, we focus on one of the five essential spiritual practices that are rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God and taught throughout the New Testament. Each of these practices is intended as part of our daily walk with Christ while also being an essential part of growing together in the church. We explore what it looks like to pursue this practice daily in our personal life and together in the life of the church. Join us as we continue our spiritual journey during this Lenten season.
The sessions are held virtually via Zoom from 6:30 to 7:30 PM each Wednesday through March 31 and are facilitated by Tim Lyons. Tim will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding the study and will work with you if you’re not familiar with Zoom. Please register with Tim if you want to participate by email to tlyons00@gmail.com.
THOMASVILLE CROSSWALK 2021
FRIDAY, APRIL 2
11 AM
BEGINS: MEMORIAL UMC
ENDS: BROWN-NEW CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH
The Thomasville Community CrossWalk will BEGIN at MEMORIAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (101 Randolph Street) at 11 AM and we will carry/drag a solid, 8-foot wooden Cross to the END at BROWN NEW CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH (200 Doak Street). Church representatives from the community will do readings along the way to remind us of the journey that Jesus took on Good Friday leading up to his death on the cross. Brown New Calvary has gracious agreed to follow the procession with their bus for people who cannot make the entire trip AND for people who need a ride back to the church after the CrossWalk concludes.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the unusual circumstances surrounding this year’s CrossWalk, we are asking that walkers wear a face covering and social distance themselves as much as possible. Since we will be completely outside, we feel like we will be able to offer a safe environment if these precautions are followed.
TENEBRAE SERVICE
FRIDAY, APRIL 2
7 PM
MAIN SANCTUARY
The Service of Tenebrae is a worship service, celebrated on Good Friday that recounts the 7 last words (phrases) Christ spoke before he died on the Cross. It is a service of readings and music with the use of dramatic lighting, darkness and candles and it is sure to inspire you and prepare you for Easter Sunday!
Please join us!
