The 2024 Children’s Christmas Party was a big success. Look who stopped by…SANTA!!
Star of Bethlehem
Our parking lot is already beginning to show signs of Bethlehem. This Sunday, December 8, at 1:15 volunteers will begin bringing all the sets out, putting them together, decorating and lighting them and once again on Saturday, December 14 and 15 at 5:30 pm the drive-thru Nativity will begin. If you are able, you are invited to participate all week long in this process. Just show up with strong backs and willing hands. There will be something for you to do. This program provides a wonderful opportunity to fellowship and get to know folks you may not see often while providing a beautiful gift to our community. Just a reminder to please not leave your car in the church parking lot following the regular services as Bethlehem will be filling both lots. Remember also that there will be street parking around the church and behind the old library for our services so plan to be in attendance as usual. Please help spread the word by inviting family and friends to drive-thru this event and receive a Christmas Blessing from our church.
Help Foster Families this Christmas Season!
We are collecting socks and shoes for children in foster care. Place your new sock and shoe donations in the box in the foyer of the CEC now through December 20th. Questions can be directed to the church office 336-472-7718.
Storytime with Santa
December 7th
9:30am – 12:00pm
Neighborhood Trash Pick-Up
Saturday, December 7 at 8 AM
Meet in Upper Parking Lot
As we prepare for all of the visitors that will come to our church during Star of Bethlehem, the Thomasville Christmas Parade and all of the other holiday events, we want to be sure to put our best foot forward! Come to the church Saturday, December 7 to pick up trash around the church AND in the neighborhood surrounding the church. Eric Kuppel is organizing this event and will supply trash bags, “grabbers”, and gloves, we just need YOU! Hope to see you there!
As you are aware, we will sadly be saying goodbye to Lynda Helper at the end of the year.
In appreciation, and for everything that Lynda has done for Memorial Methodist Church for the past 14 years, we will be honoring her at a brunch on Sunday, December 29th.
As a small token of our appreciation for the many years of service to our church family, we would like to give a gift certificate to a spa, so that Lynda may begin her sabbatical with a bit of relaxation and rest.
Because Lynda has touched all of our lives, the staff-parish committee felt that members would want to personally contribute toward this gift. We kindly ask that donations be made before December 16th.
We look forward to seeing you on December 29th at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall for the annual brunch, with great food and fellowship. This is where we will present Lynda with your love and generosity.
