LOVE FEAST LUMINARIAS & POTLUCK DESSERTS!

THIS SUNDAY… So, this Sunday we will set out Luminarias to line the sidewalks of our church and light the way to our LOVE FEAST SERVICE SUNDAY NIGHT at 7 PM (You and your family, friends, neighbors — anyone you would like to INVITE — are invited to come to this really cool candlelight service).  YOUTH will meet at 4:30 PM. We will be done by 6:30 PM.

YOUTH GROUP POT LUCK DINNER!
This year, after Luminarias….  If you can, bring your favorite dessert (or side dish) to share for a “Youth Group Pot Luck”!  The food can be ANYTHING you want to bring — especially if you have a special dish that you make and are proud of!!  HOWEVER…PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS KEEP YOU FROM COMING – even if you can’t bring anything, there will be plenty of food!!!  I will be supplying the “main dish” so even if you are not able to bring anything, we will NOT go hungry!  But I believe that this could be a lot of fun to try some new things and see what everyone brings!!!

LOVE FEAST…
We hope that you will choose to stay for the Love Feast at 7 PM.  If you have never been to our LOVEFEAST, it is a beautiful worship service where we sing Christmas Carols, and participate in a traditional Moravian Love Feast including special spiced cider and  hot cross buns from DEWEY’S BAKERY!  Its a lot of fun and it ends with a candlelight recessional!  BRING YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!

HELP: CLEAN UP
Finally, if you are able to stay for a few minutes AFTER the Love Feast, I need your help for about 20 minutes after the service to collect all the Luminarias that we set out earlier.  It really does not take long, but the more people we have, the quicker it goes!  We should be done no later than 8:30 PM (probably much earlier)!  Thank you for your help!

See you there!

ACOLYTES!!!  HELP!

In case you have never heard the word “ACOLYTE”, an ACOLYTE is the person at the beginning of the worship service that brings in the flame to light the altar candles.  We need some volunteers to light the candles at the 11 AM service!   (the 8:50 AM service does not use Acolytes)  It only takes about 30 minutes to learn how to “ACOLYTE”.  Typically, you sign up for a month (4 Sundays) and then you will be the Acolyte for that month at the 11 AM worship service.  You would need to light the candles at the beginning of the service and put them out at the end.  If this sounds like something you might be interested in, contact Rodney (336) 906-3036 OR Brandy Lambeth (336) 688-6881 for more information!

SMALL GROUP for HIGH SCHOOL & MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS!

These small groups are designed to be different than our Sunday Night Programs.  Instead of events, service, activities or discussing issues, “Small Group” meets simply to share about how your week is going and to have a few people pray for you and your life.  You will in turn get to pray for others and hear about their week as well.

WHAT DO WE DO? When you meet you are asked to share 3 questions: What was the HIGH POINT of your week? What was the LOW POINT of your week? Where did you SEE GOD during the week?

HOW DO I JOIN A SMALL GROUP? Its pretty simple, but it is very meaningful to those who attend and you have an open invitation to just SHOW UP and we will guide you to find the perfect fit for you in a small groupl.

Contact Rodney (336) 906-3036 if you have any questions!  Hope to see you there!
