STEWARDSHIP 2023!

CONSECRATION SUNDAY

Today we conclude our annual stewardship program as we make plans for our ministries together for 2024.  This week’s special guest speaker is: Rev. Eric Lane!

We welcome Rev. Eric Lane as our preacher today. Eric is the pastor at Salem UMC in Denver NC. A graduate of NC State and Hood Theological Seminary, Eric has enjoyed successful pastorates in Granite Falls and Mineral Springs.
Eric currently serves as the President of the Western North Carolina Board of Trustees. He has a heart for missions and has led numerous mission building teams to Central and South America and Eastern Europe and has been instrumental in building homes for Habitat for. Humanity. Eric is married to Beth, and they have four children and seven grandchildren.

Sunday, September 17 we will celebrate Consecration Sunday. We will worship together at ONE SERVICE on that day at 11 AM.

Following worship on that day we will have a CATERED LUNCH.

We need the help of all cooks to make this event a success. Proceeds will be used to support UWF mission projects and scholarship programs. Some of the items that sell well are all types of breads, seasonal fruit pies, cookies, brownies and other bar-type cookies, ham and sausage biscuits, cakes of all kinds, candy, fried fruit pies, granola. Please bring items to the church on Friday, September 15, between the hours of 10:00 AM– 12 Noon. Items can also be dropped off at Sara Faulkner’s house on Friday afternoon or at the Farmers Market on Saturday morning. Help at the market is needed from 7:30 – 9:45 AM and 9:45 AM to 12 Noon. BIG PINK CHAIR PROJECT

The Big Pink Chair Project is right around the corner, as well as PINK DAY, October 14th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We have 30 free mammogram spots at the festival on the Novant Health Mobile Mammogram Unit. Those appointments need to be scheduled by calling BL Markers Market and securing a spot by September 20th.
