Things are going well. Everyone had stayed injury-free to this point. It has been a particularly wet trip, afternoon rain everyday so far! Rodney’s team is finishing dry wall in a bathroom. Chris’s team is replacing a roof on a home. Rob’s team is working to reinforce a floor that was unsafe.

UMW BAKE SALE at the THOMASVILLE FARMERS MARKET
SATURDAY, JULY 16, 2022
8:00 AM – 12 NOON
Please help the United Methodist Women raise funds for mission giving! Any of the following items sell well at the Farmers Market: pies of any kind, cakes, cookies, candy, bar cookies, breads, breakfast breads, ham and sausage biscuits, snack mix, and granola.
Bring baked items to the church CEC on Friday, July 15, from 10 AM – 12 Noon, or to Sara Faulkner’s from Noon until 5:00 PM. You may also bring items to the Farmers Market on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM. Help is needed on the day of the sale from 7:30 AM -9:45 AM or from 9:45 AM – 12 Noon.

We are not allowed to sell fresh produce or home-canned items at the Bake Sale
Church Doors
We are pleased to let you know that the “sun baked” doors on the front of our church are being sanded and refinished to preserve their beautiful wood. Thank you to the Trustees for making this possible and to the volunteers who are helping. Their labor is a big financial savings on this project.
KIDS SUMMER BOOK CLUB
Book Club for 3rd– 5th grade students will be starting June 15th and running through August 17th on Wednesday evenings from 4:00- 6:30pm.
This summer the children will be reading and discussing “At the back of the North Wind” by George MacDonald.

MULCH! MULCH! MULCH!
We have a surplus of mulch and it can be yours for a donation to the church! You will need to provide your own vehicle and labor.
United Women in Faith,
Memorial United Methodist Women invite all the women in our church or friends of members to join us at our Annual Summer Brunch on Saturday, July 23rd. We will meet in the CEC Dining room at 11:00 AM. A Brief update on business matters and community service projects will follow our brunch.
Payton Williams will update us on CCM needs. Our hands-on project is bringing breakfast items for CCM. This is a current need. (Cereal, oatmeal, grits)
One hour Prior to the meeting (10:00) the executive committee will meet in RL Pope Sunday School Classroom.
Remember your Pledge for this year. If you have not had an opportunity to complete your pledge card, cards will be available. See Martha Berrier.

We have Four Circles:
Morning (Leader, Bonnie Craig) meets third Monday mornings every other month
Evening (Leader, Elaine Rabon) meets third Monday evenings with dinner every other month.
Sunday Morning (Leader, Prentice Weldon) meets during Sunday School each Sunday
Support (Leader, Ginger Cranford) attend General meetings and support UMW Projects.
General meetings are held approximately four times a year with dinner, hands-on projects, and programs informing us of community and global needs.
As United Women in Faith, we seek to connect and nurture women through Christian Spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that we inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.
We are involved in raising money through fundraisers to help meet needs in our community. Our fundraisers include Bake Sales at Thomasville Farmers Market twice a year, Jewelry Sales twice a year, Valentine’s Day Bulletin, etc.
Areas of support include:
Visiting and reaching out to homebound members
Provide Bereavement meals.
Honor our graduating seniors with a luncheon and gift.
A scholarship program for our graduating seniors.
An active reading program.
Provide books for local schools (Book Fair).
Support our Girl Scouts.
Participate in District and Annual Conference Meetings, Mission Studies,
and Spiritual growth.

ART Camp 2022: Discovery!
July 25-29, 2022, 9am-3pm
For rising 1st-6th graders
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for all campers.
All materials and food are covered in the registration fee.
Registration fee: $100 per student
Registration is limited! First come, first serve.

Mission Trip
We will be taking a Rebuilding Team to Canton NC the week of August 22-26, 2022
We will be working on homes that were damaged by flooding.
All skill levels will be welcomed.
This is a mission project managed by our Annual Conference.

STAR OF BETHLEHEM…
It’s on the calendar!
We are excited to begin planning for Star of Bethlehem to be presented again in 2022 after the two-year interruption. It will be on Saturday night and Sunday night, December 10 and 11. Put those dates on your calendar and be a part of this beautiful production. There is something for everyone to do to make this a success. More information and opportunities will follow.
