Christine Holmes Eddinger, age 52, died on March 7, 2022. She was born in Guilford County, NC on December 23, 1969, to Gary David Eddinger and Shirley Faye Robbins Eddinger. Christine grew up in Thomasville, NC, attended East Davidson High School, and graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Math in 1988. She received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University, majoring in Russian, and earned a master’s degree in Creative Writing from NC State University. After a few years supporting domestic abuse victims at InterAct in Raleigh, she spent the majority of her career working as a writer and editor. Places she worked include SAS and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina but spent the majority of her career working at MicroMass Communications in Cary, NC.

Christine and her family moved back to Thomasville in 2015 after living in the Cary area since college. Upon returning to Thomasville, she and her family joined Memorial United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women committee, the Parish committee, and other groups. She was also a Girl Scout troop leader in Cary and in Thomasville. Christine loved to travel and in her last few years, she traveled to places such as Costa Rica, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Brussels, Germany, and the United Kingdom. She also resided in Amsterdam, Netherlands for a short time as she sought experimental cancer treatment.

Christine is survived by her husband of more than 17 years, Scott Holmes of Milford, Connecticut; her daughters Olivia Gordon of New York and Eleanor Holmes of Thomasville; her parents Gary and Shirley Eddinger of Thomasville; her brother Brian Eddinger, his wife Cindy Eddinger, and their children Haley Eddinger, Camden Eddinger, Jessica Eddinger, and Joshua Eddinger all of Thomasville; her aunt Karen Byerly of Thomasville; her cousin Wendy Smith, her husband Mick Smith and son Jacob Smith all of Thomasville; first husband David Gordon of Thomasville.

Christine is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents David and Mary Eddinger of Thomasville; maternal grandparents Elmer and Rosa Robbins of Thomasville; and Uncle Harrison Byerly of Thomasville.
A funeral service will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church, 101 Randolph St., Thomasville, NC 27360 on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Victory Baptist Church.

The family will greet friends on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations of Thomasville, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC 27360.

In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to the Davidson County Animal Shelter and Hospice of Davidson County.
