COVID RESPONSE UPDATE! (2/16/22)…
GOOD AFTERNOON! Just a quick update to give you some last minutes details about the upcoming TUBING TRIP!
FIRST, after some discussion and weighing our ability to make the trip as safe, but hassle-free as possible for everyone, we have decided that we will not need to have any COVID testing prior to the trip! HOWEVER, we will still ask that while in the confines of the van, you still wear a mask to prevent spread, and of course if you have symptoms please stay home!
SECOND, be on time at the church – 7 AM. We will need to leave right at 7 in order to make sure we get there on time! Don’t be late!
THIRD, The weather is supposed to be beautiful, (warm!) so there may be a some snow “melt-age” so that means that you may end up a little wet as the tubing goes on during the day! This means that you may want to pack a bag with dry clothes to change into after tubing!

We will be taking a TUBING DAY TRIP to the NC mountains! HAWKS NEST is just outside of BOONE, NC and it is known as one of the best tubing parks in the Southeast US! We have a 2-hour tubing session reserved for Saturday, February 19 and will also eat lunch in downtown Boone! The cost will only be $50, which includes tubing and lunch, however – as always – if money is the deciding factor, please come with us! Rodney has scholarships available. (Just ask!)

SCHEDULE
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19
7:00 AM MEET AT CHURCH (PLEASE EAT BREAKFAST BEFORE YOU ARRIVE)
9:30 AM ARRIVE @ HAWKS NEST (Change clothes, prepare to tube)
10:00 AM TUBE!
12:00 PM Change into STREET CLOTHES head to Boone for lunch
1:00 PM LUNCH in BOONE
2:30 PM Leave for home
6:00 PM ARRIVE BACK AT CHURCH (We will not stop for supper, but we will stop for gas, please bring extra money if you want something from the gas station)
PACKING INSTRUCTIONS:
NECESSITIES
A FUN, ADVENTUROUS, CHRIST-LIKE, FLEXIBLE ATTITUDE WITH A WILLINGNESS TO BE PATIENT AND INCLUDE OTHERS!
WARM, WATER-PROOF CLOTHES: For 2 hours of tubing.
STREET CLOTHES: For the ride up and back
EXTRA MONEY (for: Snacks)

This is a great trip to get to meet new people and connect with your current friends in a deeper way. SO, bring phones IF you need them, but be ready to PUT THEM DOWN & INTERACT with others and PARTICIPATE in the activities too!
ANYTHING THAT YOU DON’T WANT LOST or STOLEN
OK, not everything you bring with you will be stolen, and we have had very little trouble in the past, but any bags that are kept in the lodge may NOT be monitored at all times, so the possibility is present for things to be stolen, misplaced or lost. Our suggestion is to keep valuables with you or in the vans at all times!
ANYTHING ILLEGAL, IMMORAL OR INAPPROPRIATE
This should go without saying, but this is a church-sponsored trip and we expect participants to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. This means that items such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, weapons, pornography, fireworks, (you get the general idea) should NOT be brought on this trip.
