Youth Council ELECTIONS & Pool Party/Kidnapping!
SUNDAY, AUGUST 15
YOUTH COUNCIL ELECTION, 6TH GRADER KIDNAPPING & POOL PARTY!!!
5 – 9 PM
What better way to welcome our upcoming 6th graders than kidnapping them!!!? Of course we will also take them to Colonial Country Club Pool as well and feed them!
HERE IS THE PLAN FOR THIS SUNDAY:
5 PM – YOUTH COUNCIL ELECTION
We will take a few moments to elect a new Youth Council for 2021-2022! You do not have to be present to run, but you must be present to VOTE! If you cannot be here, but would like to nominate yourself for a position, please contact RODNEY before Sunday at 5 PM!
5:30 PM – 6th GRADER KIDNAPPING
We will send the vans out to go get our rising 6th Graders. This is an important first impression for these new Youth Group Members, so please make attendance THIS SUNDAY a PRIORITY!!!
7 PM – POOL PARTY @ COLONIAL COUNTRY CLUB POOL
As soon as we are able to gather all the young ones, we will take them to CCC Pool for introductions, food, and swimming! Please come and kick off 2021-22 the right way!!!
PLEASE NOTE: We have the pool until 9 PM, I know that not everyone will be able to stay that late, so, TRY TO STAY AS LONG AS YOU CAN, but if you need a ride, you can be picked up at the pool up until 9:00 PM, OR at the church at 9:15 PM!!
BRING A FRIEND!
See you there!
SUNDAY SCHOOL IS BACK!!!
CEC ROOM #201
(second floor of Christian Enrichment Center)
YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL is BACK!!! Sunday mornings just got a lot more exciting!!! We are beginning our YOUTH (for Middle & High School students) SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS back after the COVID break! Not only that, but we have a NEW teacher! After 35 faithful years of teaching, Brant Conner has retired his position as Youth Sunday School teacher! AND the person filling those BIG SHOES? We are pleased to announce that Kahlan Davis will be the new Youth Sunday School teacher! She is really smart, fun and enthusiastic! She also has a strong faith that she is willing to share with others! AND she has been trained by Brant over the course of a year as well! Take a moment to stop by and sit in with her one Sunday morning! You’ll be glad you did!!! See you there!
FROSTY’S HAWAIIAN ICE STAND
(on the corner of Hasty School Road and National Highway in Thomasville — Across from Sheetz)
Some of you may not be aware, but we have a High School Small Group that meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at FROSTY’S HAWIIAN ICE STAND (on the corner of Hasty School Road and National Highway in Thomasville — Across from Sheetz) Rodney will even buy you some Hawaiian Ice! These small groups are designed to be different than our Sunday Night Programs. Instead of wild activities or discussing issues, “Small Group” meet simply to share about how your week is going and to have a few people pray for you and your life. You will in turn get to pray for others and hear about their week as well.
WHAT DO WE DO?
When you meet you are asked to share 3 questions:
What was the HIGH POINT of your week?
What was the LOW POINT of your week?
Where did you see GOD during the week?
HOW DO I JOIN A SMALL GROUP?
Its pretty simple, but it is very meaningful to those who attend and you have an invitation to join a small group as well. Contact Rodney (336) 906-3036 and he will help you find the perfect fit for you in a small group! Hope to see you there!
