YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL is BACK!!!  Sunday mornings just got a lot more exciting!!!  We are beginning our Youth (for Middle & High School students) back after the COVID break!  Not only that, but we have a NEW teacher!  After 35 faithful years of teaching, Brant Conner has retired his position as Youth Sunday School teacher!  AND the person filling those BIG SHOES?  We are pleased to announce that Kahlan Davis will be the new Youth Sunday School teacher!  She is really smart, fun and enthusiastic!  She also has a strong faith that she is willing to share with others!  Take a moment to stop by and sit in with her one Sunday morning!  You’ll be glad you did!!!  See you there!

SMALL GROUPS

WEDNESDAYS
6:30 PM
FROSTY’S HAWAIIAN ICE STAND
(on the corner of Hasty School Road and National Highway in Thomasville  — Across from Sheetz)

WE WILL NOT BE MEETING ON JUNE 30 DUE TO ASP!

Some of you may not be aware, but we have a High School Small Group that meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at FROSTY’S HAWIIAN ICE STAND
(on the corner of Hasty School Road and National Highway in Thomasville  — Across from Sheetz) Rodney will even buy you some Hawaiian Ice!  These small groups are designed to be different than our Sunday Night Programs.  Instead of wild activities or discussing issues, “Small Group” meet simply to share about how your week is going and to have a few people pray for you and your life.  You will in turn get to pray for others and hear about their week as well.

WHAT DO WE DO?
When you meet you are asked to share 3 questions:
What was the HIGH POINT of your week?
What was the LOW POINT of your week?
Where did you see GOD during the week?

HOW DO I JOIN A SMALL GROUP?
Its pretty simple, but it is very meaningful to those who attend and you have an invitation to join a small group as well. Contact Rodney (336) 906-3036 and he will help you find the perfect fit for you in a small group!  Hope to see you there!

COVID-RELATED STATEMENT (UPDATED JUNE 13, 2021)

WE ARE COMMITTED TO BEING SAFE…
There are a few changes that we are making at Youth Group in order to continue to be reasonable and responsible toward our COVID-19 response.  Please read the following and feel free to contact me with any questions:

VAN USAGE:  There are a few activities coming up this summer that may need include using vans (ASP, Lake Junaluska Retreat).  Up to this point, we have tried to avoid using church vans due to the close proximity of people that will be riding in them, which would be more conducive to spreading the virus.  As we approach more and more people who are getting vaccinated, the likelihood of spread seems to be going down as well.  I am looking for some feedback from those who might be unsure about the YOUTH GROUP use of vans beginning this summer.  If you have a reservation about sending your student to Youth Group if we were to use church vans for an outing, please contact Rodney: (336) 906-3036.  I would like to hear from you!

VACCINES:  First of all, you need to know that all of the adult counselors are currently FULLY VACCINATED for COVID-19.  This means that when you attend Youth Group here, you know that we take your health seriously and try to maintain a safe environment.  Along with this, if you are a youth who has been vaccinated, you will no longer be required to wear a mask.  We are not checking vaccination cards or policing whether you are being truthful or not, but we do as that you continue to wear a mask if you are not vaccinated.  We simply hope that you will be honest and respectful of your fellow youth group members!

MASKS/FACE SHIELDS:  First See Above Statement entitled “Vaccines”.  If you have NOT been Vaccinated — Wear a face covering!  (That means covering your mouth AND your nose!!!)  Whatever you are wearing at school, wear them at Youth Group.  If you do not have one or forget to bring one, we can provide one for you!  PLEASE don’t make us keep asking you to put one on or “pull it up” its a drag for us and you probably don’t like being told what to do, either!

OUTDOORS:  We will continue to plan activities that will be experienced outdoors!  Fortunately, we are in the summer months and the weather will be warm and HOPEFULLY DRY! (water to drink will be provided)
