FINANCIAL ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)

The ideal candidate has excellent administrative, organizational, technology, and people skills, in addition to the ability to maintain confidentiality. Attention to detail and self-direction is essential. Familiarity with Realm ACS, MS Office 365, WordPress, Zoom, Facebook, Mailchimp, and other digital/social media platforms is helpful. A willingness to learn is a necessity. Minimum qualifications include some college education beyond high school with accounting course work, three to five years of applicable experience that includes demonstrated utilization of technology, efficient and accurate project management, and effective communication.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This is a part-time, 24-hour per week position. Compensation is based on candidate’s skills and experience. Memorial UMC is an equal opportunity employer. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • General responsibilities include:

    • Receive and respond to calls and messages
    • Maintain church membership giving records
    • Make and record deposits to general ledger
    • Reconcile Bank Statements
    • Enter payroll to Paychex and record journal entry
    • Review Quarterly Payroll returns, Yearend returns, W-2’s
    • Accounts payable
    • Sales Tax Returns
    • Print and distribute 1099’s
    • Make Journal Entries to the General Ledger
    • Close and do Monthly Financial Statements
    • Close year end and prepare for audit
    • Compile and do the Yearly Budget worksheet for Finance Chairman
    • Report Accidents to insurance company
    • Maintain the appropriate confidentiality
    • Prepare materials needed for special events and activities
    • Participate as a team member and assist with other activities as directed
    • Assist with necessary duties when church Administrative Assistant is on vacation
