Jeremiah 15:10-21

In our day to day we all often face challenges and obstacles we must work to overcome. These moments too often overwhelm us and test our patience as much as it does our faith. Even the little moments of a car pulling out in front of us on the road or discovering a leak in the roof add up to a feeling of unbearableness. At each moment, big or small, we are left with a choice. We are to either lay the weight on God and believe in his plans, or lay the weight on ourselves and resort to impulses of anger and hostility. We find hope in the words of Jeremiah,

 “I will make you a wall to this people,
a fortified wall of bronze;
 they will fight against you
but will not overcome you,
for I am with you
To rescue and save you”.

Believing that God gives us this strength to persevere and hold strong in our challenging times is what we must keep in our hearts and minds as we work through our days. For God tells us,

“I will save you from the hands of the wicked
 and deliver you from the grasp of the cruel”

Prayer: Dear God, I thank you for another day of life and all the opportunities for good it brings. Throughout the day I will actively search for you in all the good I encounter as well as the bad. Looking for you and believing in your grace, I am confident that I will overcome any obstacle the day might bring, and be your spokesperson to spread your love. Amen.

Thought of the day: “Look for God in the good, and look toward God in the bad.”
