Finch Series

The Finch Outreach Ministry Committee is pleased to announce the Finch Series of events for 2025. Designed to appeal to a variety of audiences, the series will consist of three events. September 13 will feature Nikita Koloff, a former professional wrestler who now runs Koloff for Christ Ministries. He has preached in over 1200 churches across the United States and internationally. He will share his testimony and is sure to be an inspiration.

On October 18, we will host the Second Chance Bluegrass Band, a bluegrass group committed to sharing the Gospel message. They delight audiences with their intricate harmonies while pleasing bluegrass critics with their high-energy acoustical music polish.

Finally, on November 22, we will present “Silent Night: A Song From the Heart”, an original play by Doug Brown, Chair of the Theatre Department at High Point University. This will be a dinner theatre event in Jarrett Hall. We will need Memorial members for this! Auditions will be held in early September for actors and crew.

Watch further information on all these events in the next several weeks.

“Silent Night” Auditions

Christmas Eve, 1818. Father Joseph Mohr, a young priest at St. Nicholas Church, found himself with a broken organ and no ideas for Christmas morning services. He found the solution with help from Anna, a young woman in his congregation and Franz Gruber, the organist.

Be a part of this compelling story at our dinner theatre on Saturday, November 22. We need actors to play the parts of Anna, Joseph, and Franz, as well as a Narrator. The actor playing the Franz part will need to be able to play “Silent Night” on a guitar. This play is written and directed by Professor Doug Brown, Chair of the Theatre Department at High Point University.

We also need crew for this event. Roles include Stage Manager, Stage Crew/Set Construction, Sound Operator, and Lighting Operator. Training will be provided for these roles.

Rehearsals will begin in early October and will consist of two-hour blocks of time. At least 10 rehearsals are anticipated.

Auditions for all roles will be held beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning, September 20, in the CEC. It may be possible to provide an alternate time if necessary. An information packet that includes the script, a personal information form, and tentative rehearsal dates can be picked up in the Receptionist’s office.

Please direct questions to Tim Lyons at tlyons00@gmail.com.

Audition Packets are in the receptionists office.

Fellowship Workday on Oct. 11th

On Saturday- Oct. 11th we will be having a workday at the church from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. to work on projects outside on the grounds and inside the sanctuary to spruce up the appearance of our facilities. Teams will be assigned to specific projects with Team Leaders for specific project areas. We will have a lunch picnic behind the CEC at 1:00p.m. with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks. Keep in mind also that pumpkins are coming in on this day as well and many will help with the unloading of the pumpkins. Please contact Marlon Winters with a text at 336-847-6422, or an email to mlwinters@rtmc.net to volunteer for this day of fellowship and work.

Realm Connect is the name of the App.  It is free.

We have upgraded our Church database software to a product called “REALM”.

STEP 1:  To check and update your profile on Realm, please check your inbox for an email sent from “notifications@onrealmmail.org”.  (You may need to check your “spam folder” or “junk mail”, if you have not received the email, otherwise don’t hesitate to get in touch with the church office for assistance.) The Subject Line should read: “Join your church family” and there should be a link in the body of the email.  Click on the link and it should take you to a web page where you will create a password, confirm the password, then “prove that you are a human” by checking a box.  (IMPORTANT: Be sure you remember your password, you will need it to activate your account and to sign in to your account.)

STEP 2:  An additional email will then be sent to your inbox so that you can activate your account. Click on the link in the second email, then you will be taken to a web page where you will be asked to confirm your Birthdate.  Once confirmed, you will then be taken to the information that the church has on you.  You will be able to update information, check your privacy settings, *check your giving statement and *create an “Estimate of Giving” as well.
