Update on David & Katie Conant
We have heard from David & Katie Conant and they are doing as well as possible.
David has been taking infusion treatments and will have a scan next week to
determine whether they are effective. The treatments are very tiring and take quite
a lot of his energy. He was able to transfer his medical records from the VA here to
the one in New York. Katie is holding up her end of the bargain and is now preparing the meals that
David is used to doing. Rocky is living his best life and has made quite a few friends at the campground where
they are staying.
SPECIAL PROJECTS COMMITTEE
BARGAIN TREASURES
AUGUST 24, 2024
The Special Projects Committee is pleased to announce that we are resuming this year the Bargain Treasures fundraiser, a special event that raises revenues for our church operating budget for 2024. Preparation for this wonderful event begins now with items collected and stored during the coming months leading to the event, preparing a list of volunteers who can help us on the days leading up to the event day (Aug. 18-23) and of course those who can help on the event day of Aug. 24, 2024.
Please help us with this wonderful event; we need you.
We have received offers from many members to help. We will be contacting volunteers in the coming months as to actual assignments that you are willing to fulfill. If you can help, contact Marlon Winters at the email or phone number listed below.
We will begin now with the collection of donated items. We seek items that include clothes, especially gently used children’s clothing, crafts, antiques, pictures & frames, toys, sporting/exercise equipment, household items including lamps, linens, sheets, bedspreads, draperies, rugs, curtains, fabrics, dishes, glassware, cook utensils , baking items; also holiday decorations, tools, furniture, children’s books, electronic items including toasters, microwaves.
We ask that you DO NOT donate televisions, magazines, books (other than children’s books).
We ask that all items donated be of good quality and clean if possible. This will help us greatly in preparing for the event.
We are glad to offer pick-up of items as many of you are going through residence changes and spring cleaning and wish to already offer items for our event. We have storage available to house items as we prepare for the special day. Contact Ron Berrier to arrange a time for pick-up.
