Blessing of the Animals Service

Are you an animal lover? Do you share your life with a furry, feathered, scaled, or even stuffed friend? Whether it’s a cat or dog, pig or bird, lizard or spider, hamster or fish (in water, please!)—all creatures great and small are invited to join us for our Blessing of the Animals Worship Service.

This special tradition dates back to the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, a saint known for his love of God’s creation and the joy of animals. Together, we’ll celebrate the beauty, companionship, and wonder that pets bring into our lives.

Of course, pets are welcome to bring their humans along! We hope you and your companions—furry, feathered, fuzzy, or finned—will join us on Sunday, October 5 at 3:00 p.m. on the front lawn.
