NO YOUTH GROUP THIS WEEK … BUT COME OUT for “STAR of BETHLEHEM”!

THIS SUNDAY…We will not have our normal weekly Youth Group meeting, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come out to the church this weekend…  THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO GET INVOLVED…

“STAR OF BETHLEHEM” is our drive-through Nativity presentation which transports people back to the days of Jesus’ birth.  Visitors will drive through the town of Bethlehem, ending at the stable including live animals!!!  The NATIVITY STORY will be presented Saturday, December 9 & Sunday, December 10, (5:30 – 8:30 PM) both nights!  It is completely FREE. ENTRY will happen near the Central Recreation Center on Taylor Street, just follow the signs!!!

BECOME A PARTICIPANT

If you would like to be a participant in the Nativity … YOU CAN!
We need ACTORS to play VILLAGERS of BETHLEHEM!  It is A LOT of fun AND we need people of all ages!  So, your entire family can come a be a part of this very special Thomasville tradition!  We will even feed you!
WE have the costumes, we just need YOU!

SHOW UP ON TIME!

IF YOU ARE ALREADY HELPING with STAR OF BETHLEHEM…

There are 2 SHIFT TEAMS A & B – Each team will be out for 2 x 45 minute shifts…
YOU will need to be at the church early enough to EAT & DRESS in your COSTUME (maybe around 1 hour early!)

SHIFT A (5:30 – 6:15 PM) & (7:00 – 7:45 PM)

SHIFT B (6:15 – 7:00 PM) & (7:45 – 8:30 PM)

PARKING will be available across the street behind the COURTHOUSE and a shuttle will travel between the parking lot and the church (or you can simply walk!

We need people to walk along with our Parade float and hand out candy for this year’s Thomasville Parade!  If you are interested, contact Rodney (336) 906-3036!

ACOLYTES!!!  HELP!

In case you have never heard the word “ACOLYTE”, an ACOLYTE is the person at the beginning of the worship service that brings in the flame to light the altar candles.  We need some volunteers to light the candles at the 11 AM service!   (the 8:50 AM service does not use Acolytes)  It only takes about 30 minutes to learn how to “ACOLYTE”.  Typically, you sign up for a month (4 Sundays) and then you will be the Acolyte for that month at the 11 AM worship service.  You would need to light the candles at the beginning of the service and put them out at the end.  If this sounds like something you might be interested in, contact Rodney (336) 906-3036 OR Brandy Lambeth (336) 688-6881 for more information!

We are starting an ALL NEW YOUTH CHOIR!!! NO EXPERIENCE required!  Just a desire to make a joyful noise!
Meets immediately after SMALL GROUP!
We will begin by practicing with the Adult Choir.  We will be preparing a few pieces that we will sing during worship this Fall!!!

SUNDAYS!!! 10 AM YOUTH ROOM! (Upstairs in the Christian Enrichment Center) Join us for a discussion-based Sunday School Lesson!  No Bible knowledge necessary – Let’s learn together!  Bring a friend!

SMALL GROUP for HIGH SCHOOL & MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS!

These small groups are designed to be different than our Sunday Night Programs.  Instead of events, service, activities or discussing issues, “Small Group” meets simply to share about how your week is going and to have a few people pray for you and your life.  You will in turn get to pray for others and hear about their week as well.

WHAT DO WE DO? When you meet you are asked to share 3 questions: What was the HIGH POINT of your week? What was the LOW POINT of your week? Where did you SEE GOD during the week?

HOW DO I JOIN A SMALL GROUP? Its pretty simple, but it is very meaningful to those who attend and you have an open invitation to just SHOW UP and we will guide you to find the perfect fit for you in a small groupl.
