COSTS

Due to the nature of this trip, there are different options and costs associated with different people and activities.  Please see below for the cost of the trip.  Each part below is an addition to the BASIC TRIP.  PLEASE FILL OUT A PAYMENT SHEET FOUND HERE, TO MAKE SURE I HAVE RESERVED THE CORRECT TICKETS, SPACES AND EQUIPMENT:

BASIC TRIP (TRANSPORTATION, LODGING & MEALS ONLY (“NO SKI” OPTION): $50
(Some people may want to go on the trip, but not ski or tube.  This is the basic cost of the trip, without any extras: everyone going on the trip will pay this fee.)

LIFT TICKETS (for 2 days): +$75
(If you plan on Skiing or Snowboarding, this is the cost for the LIFT TICKETS.  Everyone who plans on skiing/Snowboarding will pay this fee.)

SKI/SNOWBOARD RENTAL (INCLUDES HELMET) (for 2 days): +$75
(If you are renting any kind of equipment, you WILL receive a helmet.  I will not be on the slopes monitoring who is wearing helmets, but I do expect people to take care of themselves and make the right decision to wear them when you need them.)

SKI/SNOWBOARDING LESSON (+$25)
If you have never skied before I encourage you to take the group ski lesson, taught by the Staff at Winter Place Ski Resort.  It is around 60 minutes and very informative!  Our adults can help with some one-on-one time AFTER the ski lesson, if needed.

SKI BIB RENTAL: +$10

ALL-DAY TUBING PASS: +$40
(This can be added after we arrive at the slopes.)

“ADD-ON TUBING” (2-hour session): +$16
(This can be added after we arrive at the slopes.)

JUST TO BE CLEAR:
The cost to go skiing on this trip (if you do not have any of your own equipment) ends up being around $200.
(Basic Trip ($50) + Lift Tickets ($75) + Ski/Snowboard Rental ($75) = $200)
Unfortunately, this is an increase over the past few years because the cost of this trip has slowly crept up.  We finally needed to increase our fees because we were spending too much on this one trip.  I am very sorry about this, but I feel like this is a fair price for a great and fun weekend!!!

*SCHOLARSHIPS
If the COST of the trip is the only thing that is preventing you from going, please let me know, I have full and partial scholarships available!

ALSO:  You will need a little money for fast food meals on the way there and on the return trip.

If you have any questions, please contact RODNEY (336) 472-7718, (336) 906-3036, revroddd@gmail.com

LODGING

WINTERPLACE CABINS

NEW FOR THIS YEAR!!!… We will be renting Winter Place’s Cabins for our stay.  These cabins have bunk beds and we will have a cabin for (cis) males and a cabin for (cis) females.  (The cabins sleep 15)  Provided the numbers work out, everyone should have a bed, BUT if we have more than 15 of a gender we may need to supplement with air mattresses.

What this means for you is that you will be provided a twin-sized mattress, sheets & pillow with a blanket.  You may want to bring your own pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, warm pajamas, etc. if you like.

There are facilities for changing clothes with sinks, a toilets, & showers.  So please feel free to bring your own towels, toiletries, etc.

NEVER SKIED BEFORE?  NO PROBLEM!

We really want you to have a great experience on this trip!  So even if you have never been skiing before we will help you learn!

WINTERPLACE IS A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN!
WinterPlace Ski Resort is a great place to learn how to ski!  The slopes are wide enough to give you room to make some mistakes and still be safe.  Plus, you can go all the way to the top of the mountain and still find “Beginners Slopes” all the way down. So, there is no chance that you will get on the wrong lift and be stuck!

SKI SCHOOL
WinterPlace offers a “Ski School” which gives new skiers a 60-minute group lesson on the basics of safely getting down the mountain.  We encourage ALL first timers to take this lesson!

OUR SECRET WEAPON: OUR ADULTS
Unfortunately, sometimes even after attending “Ski School” some people still have questions.  This is where our highly-skilled adults will help you!  Most of our adults are very good skiers and they are willing to take you out on the slopes and give you an individual lesson to help you get better!  Just ask one of them and they will be glad to help!

FINALLY…
The last option is that even after you go through Ski School AND work with one of our awesome adults, you may figure out that Skiing is just not for you!  There is always the option to hang out in the lodge or go tubing for the rest of the day.  This is a great trip with lots to do.  We hope that you will give it a try!

ANYTHING THAT YOU DON’T WANT LOST or STOLEN

OK, not everything you bring with you will be stolen, and we have had very little trouble in the past, but the bags that are brought into the lodge will NOT be monitored at all times, so the possibility is present for things to be stolen, misplaced or lost. Our suggestion is to keep valuables with you or in the vans at all times!

ANYTHING ILLEGAL, IMMORAL OR INAPPROPRIATE
This should go without saying, but this is a church-sponsored trip and we expect participants to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. This means that items such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, weapons, pornography, fireworks, (you get the idea) should NOT be brought on this trip.

*** COVID RESPONSE ***

PLEASE READ: UPDATED JANUARY 4, 2022…

In an effort to keep everyone healthy AND to avoid the need to wear masks all weekend we are asking that every person that goes on the trip…

*** THIS IS NEW & UPDATED SINCE MID DECEMBER WHEN I FIRST RELEASED SKI TRIP INFO ***:  We are asking that EVERY PERSON going on this year’s SKI TRIP, will agree to get a COVID TEST within 3 days of the trip.  REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS OR SYMPTOMS.  It has been documented that vaccinated and asymptomatic folks can still spread the virus.  (Of course, in order to go on the trip you must be a negative test result!)  I will do what I can to help with this test!  The test can be a “Rapid”, “at home” test, we just want to make sure that the van ride there, and the sleeping arrangements at night are safe for everyone!
