REV. PEGGY FINCH RETIREMENT RECEPTION

SEPTEMBER 19
AFTER 11:00 AM SERVICE
FRONT LAWN at MUMC

We are excited to share with you that a reception to celebrate the retirement of Reverend Peggy Finch has been scheduled. Peggy officially retired in June 2020. However, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Church had to postpone a formal celebration with Peggy until now. Please plan to join us to honor Peggy and her ministry at Memorial on Sunday, September 19th following the 11:00 am service.

In lieu of a love offering, we are requesting that you participate in personalizing a gift that will be presented to Peggy. Please submit a one-sided note recalling a special memory, a word of appreciation, a meaningful picture, or other message that can be included in a memory book. A photo album of the reception activities will also be put together and given to Peggy. These projects are being coordinated by Martha Burrow, Marie Carmichael, and Summer Gordon.

Your submissions for this project are needed by August 22nd. Notes and photos can be dropped off in the Receptionist or Church Office or sent electronically to Summer Gordon. There will also be an insert in the bulletin that can be utilized to write a message.

HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS

ALL “LOVE WINS…ALWAYS” mugs have now been SOLD!

But do not worry! With the generous support of Missions Pottery, we will have more of these beautiful mugs available this Fall.  Amber and Sandy will be busy glazing and getting them ready for you to choose your personal favorite.

This project will help many people through Cooperative Community Ministry and Project Divine Interruption. Thank you to all who have supported the efforts of Empty Bowls.

GIFTS GALORE RETURNS!

We are excited to let you know that Memorial’s 16th Annual Gifts Galore will take place the first Saturday in November…November 6th!  We have mailed applications and already are hearing positive responses from a great variety of vendors.  Save the date to shop and spread the word around the community.  If you or anyone you know is interested in being a vendor, please contact the church (336-472-7718) or Marie Carmichael (336-476-4625).

Thanks for helping Gifts Galore continue as a great event for our church!

THE BAG LADIES ARE BACK IN BUSINESS!

They will be set up in their usual room at Gifts Galore in November.  Monies raised will support a special project to enhance our worship experience at Memorial. Please bring your gently used handbags, wallets, eyeglass cases, etc. and put them in the hallway outside of the Altar & Arts storage room 110. We are looking forward to this fundraising event- everyone deserves a “like new” bag just for getting through the past year!!  Thank you for your continued support of the Altar and Arts members who work hard to make our church a beautiful place to gather.

CLERGY AND STAFF ARE AVAILABLE

You may contact members of the staff directly or by calling the church office at 336-472-7718 and following the instructions on the recording. Here is a list of staff phone extensions and email addresses, for reference:
