3:30 – 5 PM
MEET AT CHURCH!

THIS WEEK…

THIS SUNDAY we will be spreading a little Good News and encouragement to the town of Thomasville!  We will take a friendly message to the sidewalks of downtown Thomasville and write inspiring quotes, encouraging messages, and hope-filled graffiti in chalk to bring a little joy to someone’s day!!!  I will have the chalk, you bring the fun!!

See you there!

Bring a friend!

PLEASE READ:  Let me begin by saying that your Memorial United Methodist Church Youth Ministry Adult Council has spent a lot of time trying to weigh the risk vs. benefits of meeting “in person” for youth group.  We realize that the number of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths due to COVID and complications associated with COVID are all rising.  We do not want to be a point of exposure to this very contagious and devastating disease, HOWEVER, we also realize that there is a need for community and personal interaction that can only be provided through our faith fellowship.  So, we have made the decision to continue to meet but limit the possible exposure to COVID by holding meetings outside, with facial coverings and maintaining a 6-foot distance.  (See below for the details.)  Please help us to honor these new personal responsibilities for maintaining a healthy, happy Youth Group!  Finally, we also recognize an honor the personal decision to stay home and not meet with us at this time.  In this case, if there is anything that I can do to help you don’t hesitate to call me and let me know!  I hope to see you all when we return to a new, safer version of “normal”.

COVID-RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ATTENDING OUR YOUTH GROUP  (PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING)

WE ARE COMMITTED TO BEING SAFE…
Here are a few changes that we are making at Youth Group for the foreseeable future in order to continue to reduce the spread and our exposure to COVID-19.  Please read the following and feel free to contact me with any questions:

SOCIAL DISTANCING:  Please maintain a distance of 6 feet from other people at Youth Group meetings.  This basically means no hugging, wrestling, van rides etc.

MASKS/FACE SHIELDS:  Wear them!  (That means covering your mouth AND your nose at all times!!!)  Whatever you are wearing at school, wear them at Youth Group.  If you do not have one or forget to bring one, we have Youth Group branded cloth masks and disposable ones if you need one!  PLEASE don’t make us keep asking you to put one on or “pull it up” its a drag for us and you probably don’t like being told what to do, either!

NO FOOD OR DRINKS:  We will not be serving any suppers or offering any drinks.

HAND SANITIZER Although surface transmission is not as big of a deal as it once seemed to be, we will be touching the same objects from time to time (balls, ropes, table tops, chairs, etc,)  AND we have hand sanitizer available if you want some!

OUTDOORS:  The activities that we have planned will all be experienced outdoors!  We are meeting in the warmest part of the day and praying for a mild winter and NO RAIN!

PLEASE NOTE:  In the event that it is raining during Youth Group time, we will CANCEL, NOT move the activities  inside!  I will send out a text message through our REMIND group to keep you aware of any changes!

VANS: There may be a few activities that we will need to experience away from church property.  We have tried to keep these to a minimum, but for these events we WILL NOT be using the church vans, so you will be responsible for your own transportation to and from these activities.  More details about this will come on the days upon which these occur!
