MEMORIAL UMC’s MISSION…

We are CALLED by Christ to
GROW in faith,
BUILD relationships, and
SERVE all people.

CHURCH OFFICE NOW CLOSED, BUT COMMUNICATION LINES REMAIN OPEN

There has been little traffic at the office this week — which is at it should be — and we have made the decision to close the church office. Communication remains vital, however, and the ministers and staff remain available to you by phone at 336-472-7718, or by email, as they work remotely.

We will be reaching out to stay in touch with you with these eNews messages, the Memorial Facebook page, and the Memorial website (mumctville.org).  Please read on in this eNews to learn about Sunday online worship and 10 @ 10a new daily devotion offered on our Facebook page at 10 a.m. on upcoming weekdays.

Thank you for checking in with your friends at Memorial who are most vulnerable to the virus. And if you regularly contact those who are homebound, please stay in touch with them by phone. If you have church friends who do not use electronic media, please pass along that we will use USPS to mail weekly updates just to them, beginning next week.

Again, the Memorial clergy and staff are available to serve you during this time.  Let us know how we can help. When you call the church, please enter the extension of the person you need to reach. If your call is not answered, please leave a message so we may call you.

For reference, here is a list of church staff extensions:
Danny Leonard, Senior Minister – Ext. 16
Peggy Finch, Associate Minister – Ext. 15
Rodney Denton, Minister of Youth and Young Adults – Ext. 18
Lynda Hepler, Minister of Children and Families – Ext. 11

EMPTY BOWLS UPDATE ON CANCELLATION

TO OUR EMPTY BOWLS TICKET HOLDERS & SUPPORTERS:

After much consideration, our committee has decided to cancel the Empty Bowls 2020 fundraiser. There will be no rescheduled date this year. ALL TICKETS FOR 2020 WILL BE HONORED NEXT YEAR FOR EMPTY BOWLS 2021. Please hold onto your tickets and we will do a ticket exchange in February.

If you purchased tickets and no one has reached out to you directly, please call or text Sandy McGhee at (336) 870-4015 to let us know how many tickets you purchased. We will be making a master list of ticket holders in case any tickets are lost before next February. We want to make sure EVERYONE who planned to attend Empty Bowls this year will have a new ticket for 2021.

As we navigate these uncertain times, Empty Bowls at Memorial UMC continues to be committed to helping Cooperative Community Ministry and Project Divine Interruption secure funds. Their needs will be great. Please watch for details for some alternative fundraisers planned for later this year.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
