WEDNESDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP: JAN. 29th

We are pleased to host our arts academy students for their Arts Alive Mid-Term Recital and Art Show!  6:00 – 6:30 in the Sanctuary.

This short, 30-minute program gives our students a chance to shine and will leave you inspired as well. Please come support our Arts Alive students and staff, as well as the children of the church.

Supper is at 5:30 and Program is at 6:00 PM. The cost for supper is $8/Adult or Youth, with a $20 family cap. Children dining with an adult eat free, and no one will be turned away.

Please RSVP to the church office by noon on Monday.

Youth Small Groups for Middle Schoolers & High Schoolers

Our bible study for this spring will be a six-week study on Renegade Gospel: The Rebel Jesus, written by Mike Slaughter. Mike was our Finch Preaching Mission 2019 preacher. I have pre-ordered a small number of books, and I would encourage you to order your own copy of the book (check Cokesbury and Amazon). WELCOME TO MEMORIAL CLASS IN FEBRUARY

If you’re visiting Memorial or relatively new and would like to know more about the church, please plan to attend our upcoming Welcome to Memorial class.  Similarly, if you know someone who would be interested in this class, please let them know about it. This is an opportunity to learn more about our wide range of ministries and how to become involved. Participants also learn about our church governance, meet some of our key church leadership, and get answers to your questions about United Methodism and our basic beliefs. The class is scheduled at 10:00 am in the Christian Enrichment Center on four successive Sundays, from February 2 through February 23. Pick up a brochure in either the Narthex or in the Jarrett Hall foyer for more detailed information.  If you have particular questions, talk to one of the ministers or call Tim Lyons at 336-476-1117.

BOWL PAINTING  FOR EMPTY BOWLS

Let’s get creative for a cause! Choose a blank ceramic bowl of your choice, decorate it any way you like, and someone will choose your specially designed creation at Empty Bowls, enjoy soup in it, and take it home with them to cherish. Your donation is $10-12 (depending on bowl size/style).

Items which are considered new will be gladly accepted at this time for the 2020 Empty Bowls Silent Auction on March 20.  Suggested items include:

  • Use of a lake or beach home for a few days
  • Services related to your profession—some suggestions:
    • a real estate broker might offer 1/2 off his/her commission rate
    • a dentist might offer a free dental cleaning or whitening
    • a home repair specialist might offer 1/2 off the repair of a garage door
    • a musician might offer several free lessons

ATTENTION ALL PAST EMPTY BOWLS EVENT WORKERS: Please consider donating your old Empty Bowls T-shirt(s) to Katie Conant and her outstanding and talented group of ladies who will recycle your T-shirt(s) into a beautiful quilt to be auctioned off at this year’s Silent Auction on March 20. ELECTRONIC BANK DRAFT OPTION FOR PLEDGE PAYMENTS

Did you know that you can pay your pledge to Memorial using automatic bank drafts (EFT)? Church members who have begun paying this way have indicated that the process has been a good solution for them, simplifying recurring payments. If you are interested in this option, please contact Peggy May, church financial secretary/treasurer, who will work with you to set up the payments.
