THANKSGIVING BREAKFAST

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 28
8-9 AM
FELLOWSHIP HALL

The Memorial Youth want to thank our church for all that you do for us throughout the year! It is because of your prayers, time, and financial gifts that we are able to go on retreats, participate in service projects, and invite our friends to the church to play games and learn about God. We are thankful for how you give to us, and this breakfast is a small way that we can give back to you! The Breakfast is by donation only. Please stay for a brief devotion at 8:45 to help us focus on being thankful on this special day! We hope to see you and look forward to showing you our gratitude!

PLEASE JOIN US

Please join us on December 1st at 12 o’clock, following the 11 a.m. worship service, for a light lunch and birthday cake in the Fellowship Hall. We are celebrating Milton Humphreys’ December birthday. Please no gifts, and no RSVPs are required. We hope all church and community friends will attend.   – Milton and Theresa Humphreys

CHRISMON SERVICE, CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY, AND HOT DOG SUPPER SUNDAY DECEMBER 1st

Come follow the children as they lead us into the season of Advent. The Chrismon Service will be at 5 PM, followed by the supper and party at 6. The purpose of the Chrismon Service is to portray the drama of redemption through song and symbol. The journey to Bethlehem is also a journey to Calvary and ultimately to heaven. In this service we share the message of proclaiming Jesus Christ and his victory. During the service, the children will read scriptures and explain the symbolism of the Chrismons on our Chrismon Tree. The party and supper are a time to celebrate the season and enjoy a meal and fellowship together.

UMW CHRISTMAS GATHERING – ALL ARE INVITED!

MONDAY DECEMBER 2
6-8 PM

We hope all women, men, children, and guests of Memorial will join us. The children of the church will present “To Tell the Truth of the Real Mary, Mother of Jesus,” under the direction of Pastor Lynda Hepler, Doris Link, and Paige Hepler. The cost for the meal is $8/adult and $20 family cap. Please RSVP to Lynda Stone by Nov. 25th (336-882-6046, lyndamstone@gmail.com). Childcare and transportation are available. Please let Lynda know of your needs when you RSVP. We hope you will join us for this joyous event!

SPARE CHANGE COLLECTION DECEMBER 8

Please be sure to bring your spare change to church with you on December 8th. The children will be collecting change for a special offering in both worship services, and they would love to fill up their buckets with change for their mission.

11th YEAR OF ALTERNATIVE GIVING

Each year we provide the opportunity to give honorary donations in lieu of tangible gifts. Our alternative giving season is almost here! Watch eNews and next week’s bulletin for the insert. Alternative Giving will run Dec. 1-18.

STAR OF BETHLEHEM

DEC. 14, 6-9 PM
DEC. 15, 5-8 PM

Have you noticed? The city of Bethlehem will soon come to life in our parking lot. Before you know it December 14 and 15 will be here and the drive-thru nativity story will be presented once again. Village people are needed to make Bethlehem a bustling city. Saturday night will be from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and Sunday will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm in two, 45-minute shifts with refreshments in between.  This is a great way for entire families to participate together. You will enjoy the food and fellowship provided for cast members and workers, and most of all, the fun of being in the village and a part of this production. If you have previously participated or are new to this event, please call or email Tim Lyons and let him know of your desire to be in the cast this year. You may reach him by email at tlyons00@gmail.com or 336-259-6920 by phone. Volunteer today! Be a part of this free gift to our community.
