VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

TO SERVE IN CHILDREN’S CHURCH FOR BOTH THE 8:50 AND 11AM SERVICES.

This volunteer position is to simply come and assist the leader and engage kids with the lesson through conversation. Please contact Lynda Hepler to volunteer. We are required to have two adults with children to comply with Safe Sanctuaries.
Thank you! And please use THIS LINK to sign up.

SEWING VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED

Please remember that our sewing ministry still needs help making DRESS A GIRL dresses and boys shorts. This ministry is an ongoing project and volunteers are always needed to sew dresses and shorts at home. Pre-cut “kits” are located in Jarrett Hall. Thank you for your help with this special missions project.

PILOT POINT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

This is an opportunity for church members to missionally engage with children who are behind reading level. Pilot Point is a six-week summer literacy camp based at Fairview United Methodist Church. This program is sponsored by The Duke Endowment. Specifically, we are looking for reading buddies and church groups to help us with feeding their families on Monday Nights beginning on June 17. Pilot Point will end on Sunday, June 26.

UMW BOOK DRIVE

The Wednesday Circle for the United Methodist Women is hosting a book drive. So far, 50 books have been collected but we need enough for 100 children! The books will be given to children attending the community Vacation Bible School one-day event July 7th being organized by Pastor Lynda Hepler. Books for preschoolers to 5th graders are preferred. We will be collecting books until June 15th. A collection box is in the CEC lobby area. If you are not able to donate books, a monetary donation is perfectly acceptable. Please give a check to Charlotte Hanner with notation “book drive,” or drop off a check at the church office. For more information, please contact Cheryl Herman at 336-307-0022.

THE SPIRITUAL ACADEMY FOR LEADING TRANSFORMATION

THE SPIRITUAL ACADEMY FOR LEADING TRANSFORMATION (SALT), sponsored by the Yadkin Valley District, is an eight-month program designed to identify, inspire, train, and support a new cohort of spiritually-mature lay people able to partner with clergy to lead effective change in congregations and communities. The program consists of five pieces: retreats, evening sessions, a leadership project, collaboration with clergy, and small groups. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin and give this opportunity your prayerful consideration.

SUMMER SUPPER CLUB

SUMMER SUPPER GATHERINGS. Please contact Theresa Humphreys at 336-475-7255 if you are interested in joining other church members for informal Wednesday suppers this summer at various local restaurants.
