We are very excited to welcome to MEMORIAL a new family from Great Britain!

As a part of a 5-week ministerial exchange program with the British Methodist Church, the Morling family will be joining our church during the months of July & August!  Rev. Tony Morling is the minister of St. Helier Methodist Centre, on Jersey Island, which is located in the English channel between England and France.

Rev. Morling will be assuming pastoral responsibilities for Ben and he will be joined by his wife, Cathy, and their teenage sons, Columba and Ronan.  Tony will be preaching a series called “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants”, challenging us to “To live out the transforming power of the Holy Spirit inspired by Jesus’ first disciples.

Cathy, an actress on the BBC and a faithful servant of Christ in her own right will be leading a workshop examining how the arts can be a source of growth and inspiration for faith, called Talitha on Wednesday, August 2.  to find out how to sign up for this opportunity, please see the details HERE.

SUNDAY, JULY 23 – Hi-Toms Baseball (4 PM) at Finch Field
Join us at the ballpark for Church night as our very own Hi-Toms take on the Forest City Owls.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 26 – JERSEY ISLAND PROGRAM (6:30 PM) at Memorial UMC in the Fellowship Hall
Tony will share what life is like on the island of Jersey.  Come to find out more about Jersey Island, its history, its culture and the importance it plays in the United Kingdom!  There will even be time for for you to ask Tony questions!

SUNDAY, JULY 30 – “CRICKET LESSONS” (5 PM) at the Tom A, Finch YMCA
Tony and his family will teach us all about the game of Cricket!  We have everything you will need (bats, wickets, and balls)!  We just need you!!  Come on out to play or watch, bring a chair as we learn about this fun, British-born sport!

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2 – TALITHA (6 PM) at Memorial UMC in the CEC
