Acolytes
Beginning in the 4th grade, students are invited to participate in worship by bringing the “Light of Christ” into our 11 AM Traditional worship service. The flame that our acolytes carry into the sanctuary will light the candles on our altar. There are two candles on the altar both are reminders to those present that Christ is with us. One candle represents Jesus’ divinity. The other candle represents Jesus’ humanity. At the end of the service the flame is taken out of the sanctuary as a reminder that Christ goes out into the world before us to prepare a ministry for each person that God calls to work. This is a special ministry for young people 4th to 6th grade. If you are interested in being trained as an Acolyte, please contact Rodney Denton (rdenton@mumctville.org)
