We are delighted that our District Superintendent, Reverend Sylvia Dean Wilhelm accepted our invitation to be our 2010 Homecoming Preacher. Reverend Wilhelm has been District Superintendent of the Lexington District since 2008. Reverend Wilhelm has served in the Western North Carolina Conference since 1986. Most recently, Reverend Wilhelm was the pastor of Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Winston Salem, NC. A native of Mooresville, NC, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Asbury College in 1984 and a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University in 1987.SCHEDULE: Stay the Day

If you would like to donate some treasures: We will be at the church the week of August 23, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to receive your treasures. If possible please bring them by Thursday afternoon. If you need items picked up, we will be able to do that if you will call the church office, Berta Riley 475-2691 or Jane Williams 475-3149. Please clean out that closet or garage or attic and share the "treasures" with us.

Adult Handbells to Resume RehearsalsMUMC Adult Handbell Choir will resume evening rehearsals at 7:15 PM on Thursday night, August 26 In the Handbell room, 2nd floor – Main Building.
Anyone interested in joining the Handbell choir for the first time, please contact Mr. Bill Cates, Dir. of Music at your earliest convenience: billcates@triad.rr.com or his cell: 336.848.9264. Anyone who reads music, 7th grade and above, is welcome!
Plans are for the Handbell Choir to play for the Homecoming Service, Sept. 19; Christmas Cantata, Dec. 5; and Love Feast, December 19. Other dates to play in the Fall will be announced at a later date.
