DR. BEA JUNCADELLA HAS BEEN NOMINATED AS A FINALIST...

Dr. Bea Juncadella of Thomasville Pediatrics (a partner of Dr. David Williams, Dr. Rob Williams, Dr. Steve Hardy and Dr. Andrea Bennett-Cain) has been nominated as one of eleven national finalists for Earth's Best and Parenting Magazine's "Peds Doing Good Deeds" Contest! The Pediatricians were selected based on their impact in their community and in the world. Dr. Bea was nominated by her collegue, Dr. Andrea Bennett Cain.

YOUNG ADULT SKI TRIP

Again this year Memeorial is organizing a Ski Trip for our Young Adults and College Students in wild, wonderful West Virginia for some skiing and fellowship at WinterPlace Ski Resort! The cost of the trip is $150 which includes 2 nights lodging, 5 meals, ski rentals, lift ticket, transportation, and and all the fun you can pack into 49 hours!!! Deadline is February 19, all you have to do is fill out the REGISTRATION FORM found HERE and turn it and $50 deposit to Rodney on or before Sunday, February 19! Confirmation Classes will begin on February 19 with a parent's meeting at 10 AM in the Boy Scout Room. This first meeting will be a short orientation about the process of Confirmation.

Confirmation refers to the moment in a person's life when they confirm the steps of faith that were begun at their baptism. Since many United Methodists are baptized as infants, they had no opportunity to claim their faith in their own voice. Confirmation is that opportunity, to publicly profess their faith before the Church. This process is open to all youth, 6th grade and older. Fat Tuesday is called "fat" because it is marked by the indulgences that accompany the day BEFORE the season of Lent (which is a period of time between Ash Wednesday and Easter when Christians focus on self-denial and sacrifice). Come and celebrate this fun and decadent day by stuffing yourself with tasty pancakes!

Cost is:
$5 per person
$3 for children (10 and under)

WINTERJAM 2012

GREENSBORO COLISEUM

The Youth Group will be attending WinterJam 2012 at the Greensboro Coliseum this year!

The cost is $10 at the door and it is a great concert with Christian bands including: Skillet, Sanctus Real, and Building 429! We will meet at the church at 3 PM and we should get back around 11 PM.
