Sunday Morning Welcome & Security at Memorial United Methodist
To provide a safe worship experience, the exterior doors at both services will be locked after the services begin. To meet fire safety standards all doors can still be opened from inside the buildings.
At the 8:50 AM service, the main door under the breezeway into the Christian Enrichment Center will remain unlocked and at the 11:00 AM service the center main doors into the sanctuary facing Randolph Street will remain unlocked. The Superintendent of Buildings. and Grounds will provide watch during worship at these points.
Our goal is to provide a welcome and an open door for all of God’s people in Thomasville and the surrounding communities, while providing a safe place for our congregation. Together we are the body of Christ offered to the world.
LOVE FEAST 2017
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17
7 PM
SANCTUARY
Our Annual Love Feast will be held on Sunday, December 17 at 7 PM in our church sanctuary.
This is a special Advent worship service in which we sing Christmas carols, listen to readings from the nativity passage, and partake of the tea and rolls included with an authentic Moravian Love Feast. We will end with a special rendition of “Joy to the World” as candlelight floods the sanctuary and the spirit of Christmas is sure to flood your heart! It is a beautiful and solemn moment during a very busy and often hectic season. All are invited, we hope you will join us!
CHRISTMAS EVE COMMUNION
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 24
5:30 PM
MAIN SANCTUARY
Our Christmas Eve Communion Service will begin at 5:30 PM. We will have a brief service with special readings and blessing of the Communion elements.
Following the service, Communion will be available for anyone to receive in a “come-and-go” format until 7:30 PM. This means that even if your Christmas Eve plans prevent you from being at the church 5:30 PM, please feel free to drop by and receive Holy Communion at anytime between 5:30 and 7:30 PM! Bring your family and make this a new Christmas Eve tradition!
We hope to see you and celebrate this beautiful sacrament on the Eve of Christ’s birth.
